Futuroscope

La Palmyre Zoo

Located just 10 km north-west of Royan, this fourteen-hectare zoo is home to animals from all over the world. More than 1,500 animals from all five continents including lions, tigers, wolves, sea lions, polar bears, hippopotami, zebras, rhinoceros, elephants, apes, ostriches, parrots, ibis and even crocodiles. Parrot and sea lion shows from Easter to early November.

Valley of the Monkeys ( La Vallée des Singes )

In an 10 hectare park, gorillas, many varieties of marmosets, macaques, gibbons and capuchin monkeys live in semi-freedom. Don’t miss the haunting sounds of mandrills, white-nosed monkeys and colobi.
