Picture of a chateau in Beauvais

The delightful town of Beauvais is just 2 kilometres away. Built around a network of traditional narrow streets, Beauvais boasts a town square, which holds a twice-weekly market, a restaurant, a range of shops including a small supermarket, a pharmacy, bank, Post Office and of course the boulangerie.

Barrels of Cognac brandy

The region offers many opportunities for daily excursions. The most noteworthy local attraction is Cognac, where a visit to one of the famous brandy houses is both educating and rewarding! Our local chais in Neuvicq is also well worth a visit. The towns of St Jean d’Angely, Saintes and Angoulîme are all close by and offer many attractions.

There are villages that produce local pottery and fine ceramics and a world-famous zoo at La Palmyre where there are more than 1,500 animals from all five continents. In addition there are many bird sanctuaries and historic chateaux.

Along the Royan coast are some of the most beautiful sandy beaches in Europe, and the sheltered waters of the Gironde estuary provide perfect, safe swimming.

Port in La Rochelle

The Ile d’Oléron is noted for its oyster beds, but is also a paradise for bathing, water sports, sailing and wind surfing, whilst the world-famous port of La Rochelle is a must for lovers of seafood.
All-in-all this region has something for everyone – plenty to see and do, superb cuisine and wonderful weather.

We look forward to welcoming you.
